Giraffe selected for the South African final of the global Seedstars World emerging market startup competition

Giraffe, the revolutionary new mobile recruitment agency service in Johannesburg, has been selected for the South African final of a major startup competition.

Seedstars World is a Swiss organisation committed to reducing unemployment in emerging markets through the promotion and investment in entrepreneurship. The organisation runs a competition where seed-stage startups from the entire emerging world- Africa, Middle East, Eastern Europe, Asia and Latin America- compete for equity investment.

Giraffe is one of the startups that were selected from over 3,000 applicants from all over the world, and will be pitching at the Johannesburg leg of the competition at the Standard Bank Incubator on Friday 17th July.

“I can scarcely contain my glee,” said Bradley Cowie, founder and lead developer of Giraffe, when asked about the competition. Giraffe launched their mobile recruitment service in Johannesburg in January 2015. Since then, over 20 thousand jobseekers have signed up for the service. Several thousand candidates have been invited for job interviews in a range of industries- including retail, call centre and admin.
