Giraffe has been selected to attend the annual Brookings Blum Roundtable on the future of work in the developing world, to be held in Colorado on 3-5 August 2016.
The Brookings Blum Roundtable is an annual forum for global leaders, entrepreneurs and practitioners to discuss innovative ideas and advance groundbreaking initiatives to alleviate global poverty.
Previously, the Roundtable has explored various elements of global poverty, with themes ranging from the role of conflict in causing and exacerbating poverty, to how technology and innovation can be harnessed to tackle some of the world’s most pressing development challenges. Participants at the event include senior figures from government, the investment community and business.
The forthcoming Roundtable, chaired by former US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, will examine the future of work in the developing world: the jobs that will dominate labour markets and the terms of employment, the skills they demand and how those skills will be acquired, and the implications for development and society.
Specifically, the discussion will explore topics including the most promising innovations to support skills acquisition and certification, job matching, and talent identification, with the aim of informing policy on how to promote the adoption of recruitment technology in order to promote job creation and generate positive social impact in developing markets.
Giraffe will discuss how its automated mobile recruitment platform matches jobseekers with opportunities, helps employers recruit workers faster and cheaper than any other way and can improve the efficiency of labour markets in the developing world by dramatically improving the recruitment process and effectively allocating talent to labour markets.
