Giraffe partners with Merchants to help them recruit up to 600 call centre agents in Johannesburg

The call centre industry represents a bright spark in an otherwise gloomy South African business environment. Having an English-speaking workforce and being in a similar time-zone to the UK has always made South Africa an attractive outsourced call centre destination. The recent rand depreciation has enhanced the appeal.

 

Giraffe is pleased to announce a deal with Merchants, one of South Africa’s largest call centres, to support their call centre agent recruitment efforts.

 

Merchants is one of South Africa’s leading call centre firms, with customers such as Vodacom and South African Airways, as well as a growing base of major international clients including UK supermarket ASDA. Merchants’ rapid growth has resulted in increased demand for qualified call centre agent candidates to join their call centres. However, sourcing, screening and recruiting the right candidates has been challenging and time-consuming for the company. After running a successful pilot last year, Merchants has decided to partner with Giraffe to recruit up to 600 call centre agents during the first half of 2016.
